For many of us, hair is a form of expression. Whether it be through a new haircut or color, there’s a renewing energy about marking certain chapters of our lives through how we look on the outside. This is especially true for award-winning singer Billie Eilish, who has turned heads for her number of hairstyles, between her memorable icy blue, black hair with green roots and most recently blonde locks to mark her Happier Than Ever era. Ahead of the singer’s upcoming Disney+ movie and the release of No Time To Die (finally), the 19-year-old is experimenting with her look once again.
This time it’s less dramatic of a shift for Billie Eilish, being that she’s still blonde. Nonetheless, it's a killer style, and there's a sweet reason the artist was inspired to get the chop done. Before we get to that though, check out Billie Eilish’s latest look:
Wow! Billie Eilish cut off her long hair for a choppy shag and shared it on her Instagram. We’ve never seen the singer wear this short of a hairstyle, and it looks absolutely electric. The singer also revealed her inspiration for the style:
The 19-year-old looked to her mother Maggie Baird for her latest hair transformation. She shared some pictures of her mom when she was younger rocking a blonde, short haircut almost identical to her new look next to the announcement of her freshened-up hair. Not every teenager looks to their parents to inform their own fashion sense, but Eilish’s mom has a seriously cool hairstyle to take after. Plus, Eilish is super close to both her parents (as detailed in her documentary The World's A Little Blurry) and they have been instrumental and supportive throughout her music career.
Billie Eilish recently released her second studio album, Happier Than Ever, which has been the No. 1 album for three consecutive weeks. The blonde is the most natural look Eilish has had thus far, and as she explained, no longer feeling depressed inspired her decision to go blonde back in March. When she felt more “unstable,” she felt the need to constantly change her hair color.
Billie Eilish is gearing up to release a concert special to go with her chart-topping album, with the upcoming Disney+ movie, Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter To Los Angeles. Check out the latest trailer here:
