Ron Jeremy is known as one of the top porn stars of “all time” along with finding roles in Hollywood in movies including The Boondock Saints and Detroit Rock City. The adult film star has been in headlines for a number of claims of sexual assault in the past few years against him. On Wednesday, the Los Angeles District Attorney made a decision regarding more than 30 counts of sexual assault involving 21 victims over the past 20 years.
Ron Jeremy has been indicted on these 30+ counts after he pleaded “not guilty” on a number of situations, including forcible rape and oral copulation, sexual battery by restraint, sexual penetration by a foreign object, sexual penetration of an unconscious or asleep person and lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14 or 15, sodomy by force and assault with intent to commit rape, as reported by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.
The porn star, who legally is named Ron Jeremy Hyatt, has been accused by over 20 women of a sexual assault over an over two decade time span, the youngest victim being 15 years old at the time of assault and the oldest being 51. Back in 2014, Jeremy was charged with forcibly raping three women and sexually assaulting another, and since then more women have come forward sharing their own claims regarding his actions. District Attorney George Gascón shared this statement:
Far too often, survivors of sexual assault suffer in isolation. We must ensure that survivors have all options available to help with recovery, including trauma-informed services for healing and support to report such crimes.
The first incident reportedly happened in 1996, when a 19-year-old woman was allegedly raped by Ron Jeremy during a photoshoot in San Fernando Valley. In 2000, a 26-year-old woman was allegedly raped while they were at a party in a nightclub. Between 2002 and 2003, he also has been accused of assaulting a number of women at a strip club in the City of Industry. In 2004, when he was 51 years old, he allegedly sexually assaulted a minor, who was 15.
Those are just a few of the specific examples of Ron Jeremy is being indicted for, as the breakdown involves 12 counts of forcible rape, seven counts of forcible oral copulation, six counts of of sexual battery by restraint, four counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, two counts of sexual penetration of an unconscious or asleep person, one count of lewd act upon a child under the age of 14 or 15 and one count of sodomy by use of force and assault with intent to commit rape.
Following the indictment, Ron Jeremy is scheduled to return to court on October 12 for a pretrial conference, as his case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the Los Angeles Police Department and the District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation.
