The Rock Has His Very Own Doppelgänger And Seriously It's Uncanny
Dear readers, we live in a world overrun by doppelgängers; or “variants” if the MCU’s current terminology is your bread and butter. In just a short span of time, we’ve seen Black Widow’s Scarlett Johansson, as well as The Suicide Squad’s Margot Robbie popping up in fun social media posts. Only it’s not them, it’s people that bear such a striking resemblance to their persons that it’s a bit hard to tell the difference. And now, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the subject of this phenomenon, as his very own doppelgänger has popped up; and it’s seriously uncanny.
Thanks to a Facebook post from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office in Decatur, Alabama, this mysterious man known as Lt. Eric Fields has now been discovered by the internet. Spotted by a law abiding citizen in the wild, this man does indeed look like the spitting image of the Jungle Cruise star. But as you’ll see in the photo itself, there’s another Dwayne Johnson character that’s a better match for comparison:
If Lt. Eric Fields of the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office doesn’t look like Luke Hobbs of the DSS from the Fast Saga, then this whole doppelgänger thing has collapsed in on itself, and we can all go home. Only, we can’t, because that’s exactly which Dwayne Johnson tough guy this gentleman looks like. Take another look at that photo, and then take a look at this photo from Fast Five, in order to get the true effect.
While the facial hair on The Rock might be a bit of a distraction in that Fast Five image, it’s the sunglasses that really tie together Lt. Eric Fields and Dwayne Johnson’s mirrored existence. Those sunglasses are practically Johnson’s trademark, as recently seen in that Tik Tok video where he surprised a tour group looking for some stars. If Lt. Fields ever wanted to pull a prank on one of those very star searching groups, he’s already got his work cut out for him.
All of this doppelgänger activity has us a bit anxious, especially with the MCU multiverse using that story thread as the next massive threat to everything we hold dear. With that in mind, if there was ever anyone you could count on being consistently jacked throughout any known world you inhabit, it’d have to be Dwayne Johnson. So maybe things aren’t as chaotic as they seem.
The actual Dwayne Johnson can currently be seen in Disney’s Jungle Cruise, which can be found in theaters or on Disney+ Premier Access. If you’re already caught up with that adventure, Johnson will next be seen in the Netflix action-comedy Red Notice, which is set for a streaming debut of November 12th. And should you think the man isn’t quite busy enough, check out the list of upcoming projects The Rock has cooking in his future. Perhaps Lt. Eric Fields could be hired as a stand in for Dwayne Johnson after all.
