As actors continue to attach themselves to big-budget franchises, more Hollywood stars are forming unlikely bonds. The best illustrations of these changing dynamics are the friendships displayed by many Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Extended Universe stars. Wonder Woman 1984’s Gal Gadot and Chris Pine aren’t afraid to show the relationship they’ve formed in recent years, and sometimes that involves celebrating special life moments with each other. Gadot decided to pay tribute to her Wonder Woman 1984 co-star by calling him out with some silly photos.
The Wonder Woman 1984 actress took to Twitter to celebrate her co-star’s birthday. Chris Pine grew a year older, so Gal Gadot to it upon herself to shout out the actor on his special day. Of course, Gadot took the time to share some behind-the-scenes moments from shooting the Wonder Woman sequel. To see the goofy outtakes she and Pine shared during their downtime, check out her birthday tribute to him below:
Seeing Gal Gadot and Chris Pine in those imitate moments was quite refreshing given the intensity of Wonder Woman 1984. Sharing these photos showed just how close the actors have become while shooting the DC films. Fans got a small peek into Gadot and Pine’s rapport. Thankfully, that translated to the big screen, and even her words captured that relationship as well. The image of Gadot pretending to be a dog with Pine straddling the wall was the better of the two. Maybe more photos will come out highlighting their Wonder Woman hijinks.
Ever since the first Wonder Woman film, Gal Gadot and Chris Pine have gotten remarkably close. So spearing humor on the set isn’t anything new for them. As seen in a Wonder Woman 1984 gag reel, the actors aren’t above breaking character during a scene, as Gadot suggested in her post. They even made fun of Steve Trevor’s much-talked-about fanny pack, so the two aren’t above turning a serious moment into a funny one.
Gal Gadot’s Twitter post wasn’t the first time the Wonder Woman 1984 team members have shown their bond. Pedro Pascal recently shared a behind-the-scenes photo for director Patty Jenkins’ birthday, including a tiara-sporting Gadot in a sweatsuit. It’s nice to see co-stars being as close off-screen as they are on the big screen.
If only Gal Gadot and Chris Pine’s funny moments would translate to Wonder Woman 3, even though Pine says he's done with Steve Trevor. Hopefully that will change and things will work out to see Gadot and Pine reunite once more. If that doesn’t happen, the two actors could team up for a good comedy down the road. But Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor’s starcrossed relationship didn’t lean fully in that direction in Wonder Woman 1984 with some small moments here and there. You can see Gadot and Pine’s palpable chemistry in the Wonder Woman sequel by streaming it on HBO Max, which you can subscribe to with this link.
