HeroBlend #28: Wonder Woman Date Change, Daredevil Spoiler Talk And A DC Titans Review
Welcome to HeroBlend #28! We've got some big news about the highly anticipated Wonder Woman 1984 this week, along with reviews of Daredevil Season 3 on Netflix and DC Universe's first original series, Titans, plus some word on who might be taking over directing duties from James Gunn on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3! First, though, Eric and Adrienne will dive into this week's hot news items, and cover a new Avengers 4 title theory that links to Age of Ultron, the first look at Bane on Gotham, the latest cast additions to Todd Phillips' Joker movie, Gwyneth Paltrow's armored suit for Avengers 4 and Tom Hiddleston's favorite improvised scene from his time in the MCU.
Next, we'll head back into Five Minutes Under the Gunn territory with an update on four directors who could currently be in the running to take over Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and, as the Marvel powers-that-be have been known to do, they've potentially chosen a list of very intriguing folks to grab the reigns of that franchise. Then, we have to delve into the new Wonder Woman 1984 release date, including our thoughts on why the change was made, what it might mean for the finished film and what it could mean for the DCEU. In a switch to some big Marvel news, Iron Fist and Luke Cage both had some major developments recently when each Marvel Netflix show was cancelled after airing two seasons. So, Eric and Adrienne will talk out the possibilities that we'll see the heroes in live action again, where we might see them (and in what capacity), and what this move means for the Marvel Netflix shows in general.
Speaking of Marvel shows on Netflix, the flagship series, Daredevil, just premiered Season 3 last week, and we'll give a (mostly) spoiler free review for you. How do they bring back Wilson Fisk? Was the new villain worth waiting for? Does the action still excite like in seasons past? Do they give us a plausible reason for Matt's survival at the end of The Defenders? Those questions and many more will be answered! Lastly, DC Universe was two weeks into its first live action superhero show, Titans, when we recorded, so we had to talk about it. We'll break down our thoughts on the performances, plots, tone, action, overall look of the show and more! Sit back and relax, folks, because this is one chat you're not going to want to miss! Ready to dive in? Great! Listen for yourself above!
