Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone Is Getting Amazing New Hogwarts House Covers, See Them

Speaking as a Harry Potter fanatic, I know that some of us can't stop ourselves from celebrating our house pride whenever possible. Which is why Bloomsbury's plan to release special Hogwarts house editions of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone to celebrate its 20th anniversary is especially exciting (even if it means making room on the shelf for yet another Harry Potter book.) Yes, believe it or not 2017 marks 20 years since J.K. Rowling's very first Harry Potter book was published. Just a few months ahead of their arrival, J.K. Rowling and Pottermore have revealed the new covers.

We'll start with Gryffindor, because, well, we all know they think they're the best...

Even though I happen to be a bit partial to Slytherin....

From what he told Pottermore, the cover artist, Levi Pinfold, prefers Hufflepuff. In fact, in his own words:

I think Hufflepuff is where it's at.

Fair enough. (Literally.)

And last but likely never least, is Ravenclaw...

As you can see, each book's cover has a coat of arms, with imagery that represents the house mascots and general traits celebrated by the founders of each of the respective houses, as well as some of the principles laid out more specifically at the bottom. Each house's colors (or one of their colors) are represented on the covers as well, however what the above photos don't show is that the page edges are sprayed with the house colors...

Bloomsbury also has paperback editions on the way as well, though their covers are a bit less intricate in terms of the coloring...

Both the paperback and hardback editions of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone are already available to pre-order, with a release date set for June 1, 2017. You can order directly through Bloomsbury, or if you prefer, Amazon UK has them available for pre-order as well.
