Meghan Markle Finally Speaks Out About Her Relationship With Prince Harry
It appears Prince Harry and Meghan Markle cannot get enough of each other. The couple has been going strong for a year, and now Markle is opening up about her royal relationship. In a recent interview, the Suits actress spoke tenderly about her blossoming romance and said,
We love a great love story, too! Meghan Markle sounds enthralled with her beau. In fact, in the Vanity Fair interview, Markle refers to Prince Harry as her "boyfriend." How cute! At the same time, it sounds like Markle wants people to ease up with the proposal speculations. But Prince Harry has always been a star among the royal family, so it makes sense that people are hoping for wedding bells.
Plus, if Prince Harry marries Meghan Markle, she will become the first American to marry into the royal family in decades. The last time was when King Edward VIII abdicated the throne to marry Wallis Simpson in 1936. Prince Harry does not have to worry too much about abdication. He is sixth in line to the throne after Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte. (Plus, when Prince William and Princess Catherine's third child is born, Prince Harry will move down another spot.) Besides, Prince Harry previously said he thought about quitting royal life, and he said nobody in the royal family gives a hoot about the throne. If he had to relinquish his royalty for love, he probably would.
And Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are in love. In fact, their love made headlines in May when she escorted him to Pippa Middleton's wedding reception. Markle's attendance was a big deal because Middleton supposedly implemented the royal family protocol of "no ring, no bring" for the ceremony, and even though the bride loosened the reins for the reception, many people did not get a plus one. For example, the groom's brother, Spencer Mathews, did not bring Vogue Williams. Therefore, many people saw Markle's presence as a sign that she and Prince Harry were getting serious. (Seemingly, many people were right.)
Of course, this year marked twenty years since the tragic death of Princess Diana, who was 36 years old when she passed away. Coincidentally, Meghan Markle turned 36 this year. To celebrate the milestone, Markle and Prince Harry visited Botswana, a place Prince Harry goes to relax and also work on conservation efforts. He first went to Botswana two months after Princess Diana's death, so it holds a meaningful place in his heart. When he took Markle there, people again began speculating that Prince Harry proposed to her while they were vacationing. However, as Markle hinted, she and Prince Harry might not be at the ring stage yet, and even if they were, they certainly would not talk about it right away.
It is so much fun watching Prince Harry and Meghan Markle together. They seem to be taking it slow and savoring all of the early moments, so it seems like they could be the real deal.
