Why Yes, Jennifer Garner Sells Girl Scout Cookies With Her Kid
Celebrities: sometimes, they're just like us! Even A-list celebrities need to step out of the spotlight from time to time to help their daughters sell Girl Scout cookies. That's exactly what Jennifer Garner did yesterday. Recently, the former Alias star shared a candid moment of cookie selling with her daughter in front of a nearby flower shop. In plain clothes and holding a handmade sign, it's about as simple and down-to-earth as a celeb can get. Check out the photo below to see Garner humbly helping out the Girl Scouts in a funny, heartfelt moment.
Jennifer Garner was lighthearted about the moment, joking in the Instagram post that "yes kind sir, we do have Thin Mints" in reference to a disinterested man also found inside the photo. While it's not every day that you find yourself walking past a celebrity at a local store, especially one selling Girl Scout cookies outside, it appears that this isn't an irregular thing for Garner to do, actually.
Yep. As it turns out, Garner is no stranger to the Girl Scouts. On Live! With Kelly and Michael back in March 2016, Jennifer Garner revealed that this moment of cookie selling was not an uncommon occurrence. In fact, according to Kelly Ripa, Garner has a reputation for being a "competitive Girl Scout cookie salesperson." The 13 Going on 30 star denied such bold claims. However, the celebrity mom wasn't afraid to admit that "nobody cares" whenever she's out there selling cookies. She's merely "there with the troop," like the good, supportive mom she is. And she sometimes goes one step further. For instance, she'll sometimes encourage the girls to, say, sell the gluten-free cookies because "they're a dollar more." Even when you're a multi-millionaire like Garner, you know how to appreciate the hustle. Watch Garner talk about the process below in an amusing clip from the morning talk show.
It's worth noting that Garner isn't just a loyal, supportive mom of a Girl Scout; she's in fact a Girl Scout leader herself. And she didn't get any easy breaks because of her celebrity status either, for the record. She went through the intensive training required and everything. The Girl Scout organization doesn't bend the rules for anyone, it seems. Even though she's a movie star and a television favorite, she's there for the Girl Scout troops all the time, and she's always willing to help with anything, no matter what. And that often includes selling Girl Scout cookies.
Outside of her Girl Scout leader commitments, Jennifer Garner can still be seen on the big screen. She recently appeared in Wakefield, opposite Bryan Cranston, and The Tribes of Palos Verdes with Maika Monroe. She'll also soon return to the small screen in the lead role in Lena Dunham's new HBO series Camping, and you'll see her appear in Love, Simon and Peppermint later this year. That is, of course, unless you happen to pass her by outside the store selling cookies, first. Should that be the case, then make sure to buy the gluten-free ones.
