One Reason Jennifer Aniston And Justin Theroux May Have Split Up
It's only been a few days since Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux publicly announced they were splitting, and like a lot of defunct celebrity romances, the public is clamoring to know more. And while Aniston and Theroux have not opened up about the causes behind the divorce, new information seems to be revealing that the couple had problems nearly from the start. Namely, they reportedly could never get on the same page about which coast to live on.
Jennifer Aniston is a West Coast woman. She was born in Sherman Oaks, CA and has spent the majority of her time on the West Coast. Justin Theroux, on the other hand, was born in Washington, D.C. and reportedly prefers the big city life in New York City. When the couple was dating for four years leading up to their marriage in 2015, apparently they worked to accommodate living with one another, but People is noting that strain was always on their relationship from the start. Tying the knot doesn't seem to have changed the issue.
Mark this one as rumor for now, but considering that Aniston does spend most of her time in Los Angeles and Theroux prefers New York, it's easy to see how this could have been a contributing factor in the couple's divorce. The couple wed back in 2015, and were married for about two and a half years when the split was announced. Other rumors have indicated that Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux's differing interests may have contributed to the split. It has also been noted that they often spent time apart for work even after they got married. Whatever the reasons behind the split, the couple did release a joint statement noting they wanted to get ahead of the gossip and have called it quits.
In fact, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux's coupledom even started on rocky ground. The two met on the set of Wanderlust, hitting it off. At the time Theroux had been in a 14-year relationship with costume designer Heidi Bivens when he met Jennifer Aniston. The Leftovers actor eventually left Bivens and began dating Aniston. The two dated for several years before deciding to get married.
In recent months, both Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have been spending even more time solo of, with Aniston attending Amy Schumer's wedding by herself this week. The last time they spent substantial time together was around the new year, when they vacationed with Jason Bateman and his family in Cabo San Lucas. Since Aniston and Theroux stated they split at the end of last year, they may have already decided to divorce at that time.
We'll keep you updated as Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux continue their own version of "conscious uncoupling."
