Butcher Accused Of Chopping Son's Hand Off After Catching Him Watching Porn

A butcher in India is giving a whole new meaning to the phrase "beating the meat." After a butcher caught his 18-year-old son red-handed watching pornography on his smartphone, after several warnings not to do so, the man went to pretty drastic measures: he chopped his son's right hand off.

Well, that's certainly one way to get him to stop. Let's explain what happened here. On Monday, as reported by Hindustan Times, 45-year-old butcher Mohammad Qayyum Qureshi turned himself over to the police, admitting that he cut off his son Mohammad Khalid Qureshi's right hand between the wrist and elbow, according to the reports. Shortly after the authorities were informed, the father was taken into custody and his son was rushed to a nearby hospital. Currently, the father is being charged under section 307 of the Indian Penal Code, which is considered attempted murder. According to the doctor's reports, the son's right hand is considered "90% severed" and the chances of them resorting it are believed to be "bleak."

Mohammad Qayyum Qureshi is the father of four children, with Mohammad Khalid Qureshi being the eldest son. Khalid works as an assistant to a local cable television operator, and shortly after he bought a smartphone, he became addicted to "watching movies and pornography." His father caught him watching pornographic films several times, and he warned this son several times to cut it out. (Get it?)

Unfortunately, he didn't. This aggravation led to an altercation Sunday night when Qayyum once again caught Khalid watching porn. The dad tried taking the phone away from his son, but Khalid wasn't having it. He fought against his father and he even allegedly bit his dad's hand somewhere in the process. He literally bit the hand that fed him. Man, this story is filled with quite a few literal hand metaphors, isn't it?

During Sunday's tussle, Mohammad Khalid Qureshi fled the house, proclaiming he would never come back. Khalid did return later that night, once everyone went to bed. In the morning, the situation wasn't alleviated, as the father and son continued fighting about the same issue as the night before. In a moment of fury and anger, that's when Mohammad Qayyum Qureshi reportedly snapped. Or, more appropriately, chopped. The butcher knife came down, and he Luke Skywalker-ed his son. Once the rest of the family heard Khalid's screams of pain, they immediately rushed him to the nearest hospital. And that's how we got here, ladies and gentlemen.

I suppose you gotta hand it to the father. He certainly handled the situation, if in a pretty severe fashion. Nevertheless, don't expect the butcher father or the injured son to be getting back to normal anytime soon. Not after going through the meat grinder of this situation.
