Katy Perry Ends Feud With Taylor Swift By Offering A Literal Olive Branch

While Taylor Swift still seems to be feuding with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West, one of the pop star's most notorious rivalries might've come to a close. Indeed, the bad blood between T. Swift and Katy Perry is apparently no more, as Perry extended a literal olive branch to the "Blank Space" musician in hopes that the stadium-filling singer will forgive the California Gurl during her ongoing Reputation tour. Sure enough, the not-so-subtle effort was deeply appreciated by Taylor Swift, and she told her social media followers as such when Taylor sent the following message before the first concert in her tour.

The heartfelt forgiveness originated from Taylor Swift's Instagram account. In addition to the olive branch, which is traditionally a symbol of peace and reconciliation, there is also a hand-written note inside the package. While it's hard to read the text in this blurry video, eagle-eyed sleuths were able to make out some of the writing. According to one Swift superfan, Katy Perry's letter says the following words.

Hello old friend -- I've been doing some reflecting on past miscommunications and hard feelings between us. I really want to clear the air. -- I'm deeply sorry.

There's more to the letter, of course, but it's obscured in the social media video. Truth be told, it's best to keep it between the friends-turned-enemies-turned-friends again (hopefully). It's clearly a personal and heartfelt letter, and it should be kept personal for the time being. Nevertheless, the message is heard loud-and-clear: Katy Perry is looking for forgiveness, and Taylor Swift is looking to give it.

The feud between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift has been in full flame for the past couple years, at least, to the point where their music has seemingly been inspired by it. With Taylor Swift, there was, of course, "Bad Blood." Meanwhile Katy Perry put out "Swish Swish," among others. It has been burning hot since 2013, although it previous seemed like Perry was hoping to bury the hatchet. But when Swift reportedly put a Katy Perry character her music video for "End Game," things continued heating up. Plus, it was only a month ago when Katy Perry threw shade at Swift during an episode of American Idol. So the feud seemed alive and well, at least until this gift and note arrived.

We hope this peace sign is the turning of a new leaf in the contentious relationship between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. We'll certainly keep you posted on whether or not they mend their friendship.
