Taraji P. Henson Reveals She Got Engaged On Mother's Day
This Mother's Day, Taraji P. Henson got a great gift: a diamond ring. That's right; Taraji P. Henson is preparing to walk down the aisle soon, as the actress is now engaged to her boyfriend, NFL player Kelvin Hayden. As she announced on social media, Henson got a wonderfully romantic weekend extravagance on Sunday evening, and she's revealing the details to all of her followers. Check out Taraji's engagement ring, along with a personal declaration of love from the Empire actress herself, below.
Kelvin Hayden seems to be quite the romantic. Taraji P. Henson can barely contain her excitement in this Instagram post. The actress/athlete couple announced their relationship status in December, although rumors about their coupling had been around since 2015. It will be both Hayden and Henson's first marriage, although Henson does have a son, Marcel Johnson, 24, from a previous relationship.
Although Taraji P. Henson hasn't discussed her relationship with Kelvin Hayden too much, particularly since it hasn't been public knowledge for a long time, the Proud Mary actress did discuss her bond with Hayden during a late 2017 appearance on Essence's Yes, Girl! podcast. In that interview, Henson said the following about her love life with Hayden, and how much she loves being with him.
If Taraji P. Henson is happy, then we're happy! The film and television actress is always a delight to see on the screen, and it's good to know that Henson is ready to embark on this next stage of her life. She's clearly excited about it, and we look forward to hearing more details about her upcoming marriage to Kelvin Hayden as they arrive in the months to come. Many congratulations to the happy couple!
Meanwhile, as an actress, Taraji P. Henson was last seen in Tyler Perry's newest film, Acrimony, earlier this year. As previously mentioned, she also starred in Proud Mary. Next up, she'll be providing her voice to the upcoming Disney sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2. She also recently filmed a role in the biopic The Best of Enemies, which is expected to arrive later this year. Taraji is also signed on to frontline the forthcoming What Men Want, the gender-swapped re-imagining of 2000's What Women Want. She also, of course, reprised her role as Cookie in the newest season of Empire.
