Queen Elizabeth Has Given Prince Harry And Meghan Markle The Seal Of Approval
The Royal Wedding has officially earned Queen Elizabeth's seal of approval. With the royal nuptials between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle commencing this weekend, Queen Elizabeth has written a note expressing her consent to the marriage, which was handed to the celebrity couple at the meeting of the Privy Council today. In the hand-written address, Elizabeth vividly expressed her warm approval of the impending marriage, and she continued to shower loving praise onto Prince Harry as he prepares to embark on the next big journey in his royal life.
In the ceremonial address, Queen Elizabeth said the following kindhearted words about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Royal Wedding, as recounted by People.
In addition to this eloquent address, Queen Elizabeth's formal address included many lovely symbolic touches. For instance, on the left side of the seal, there is a red dragon with a rose, thistle and shamrock. The red dragon is the symbol of Wales, while the other items relate back to the U.K. Also included in the consenting form is the design for Prince Harry's label, as well as a tribute to Princess Diana, which was found in three red escallops from the Spencer family arm. Meanwhile, on the right side of the seal, there's another rose, this time signifying the national flower of the United States, along with two golden poppies, which is referencing Markle's home state of California. Underneath these flowers, as another tribute, are olive branches. They're featured in the Great Seal of the United States. Even though Meghan Markle is joining the British royal family, Buckingham Palace isn't disregarding Markle's American heritage, as it is made apparent in this loving salute to her love for Prince Harry.
This seal of approval is not the first from Queen Elizabeth. Earlier this year, she gave her official blessing to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, where she used similarly flowery language to express her approval in their impending marriage. With the date closer than ever, however, it's only a matter of time before Markle and Prince Harry legally bind their love inside of Windsor Castle.
The Royal Wedding is set to commence on May 19th. There are quite literally thousands of guests invited and it will be broadcast live for the world to see. In addition to this lovely seal of approval delivery, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's wedding made headlines today due to Markle's father. Thomas Markle has, reportedly, been staging pictures and helping to sell them to the press in order to make a buck or two from his daughter's upcoming high-profile wedding. Wild stuff. But, hopefully all the family shenanigans will be over once the couple is officially wed.
