Kim Kardashian Is Being Sued Over Her Perfume
Kim Kardashian West is in the news again, and this time, she's potentially in serious legal trouble thanks to her business. It's related to her popular line of perfume, KKW Fragrance. In the recent lawsuit, the company Vibes Media claims the logo on KKW Fragrance is very similar to the one own by their brand, to the point where they are suing the reality TV star over what they believe is straight-up stealing their design. Now, it's up to the court to decide if Vibes Media has a case. It's never a dull day in the life of the Kardashians. Here's what we know about Kim Kardashian and her recent legal woes.
As it was reported by TMZ, Vibes Media believes their black speech bubble-esque logo is quite similar to the one sported on Kim Kardashian West's new Kimoji perfume, which was recently released earlier this week. The newest perfumes in KKW Fragrance's line are Vibes, Peachy and Cherry. It's the logo on Vibes which is causing Kim Kardashian to potentially go to court with Vibes Media soon.
Of course, when it comes to copyright matters like this one, it's hard to tell who is in the right and who is in the wrong. Aometimes, it's just an awful coincidence. And other times, it is, indeed, a blatantly-copied imitation. We'll admit, when you put the two logos right next to each other, they do look very similar to each other -- which might cause Kim Kardashian West to dish out some cash. But we'll keep you posted on whether or not that's the case, because it's still very early in the legal process, and it's possible that these matters will ultimately be settled outside of the court of law through Kim Kardashian's lawyers (and wallet).
It should be noted that Vibes Media is only fitting with the Vibes line, and nothing else inside the KKW Fragrance perfume brand. They claim in the lawsuit that even the bottle itself is shaped like their logo, and they're going to put a stop to it (and maybe get a good chunk of cash) if they can help it. It is in Vibes Media's benefit that they had the copyright on the look.
If Vibes Media wins this case, then they want all of Kim Kardashian West's latest hot-selling perfume to be destroyed, and they want damages for the offense. It's not clear at this point, obviously, if they are going to get their wish. As we mentioned earlier, it's simply too early to tell what is going to happen, but it's certainly not looking great at the moment for Kim Kardashian West's famous perfume franchise.
Meanwhile, away from these legal hassles, Kim Kardashian West found herself in the news again when her mom, Kris Jenner, talked about her thoughts on Kim Kardashian's infamous sex tape with Ray J, which is sometimes credited as the source of fame for the Kardashians. Kim Kardashian also found herself in trouble when she advertised appetite supplements on her Instagram page, which didn't go over well at all. Indeed, it's never a dull moment when you're living the life of a Kardashian. This is only another challenge for the busy reality TV superstar to battle.
