Mighty Ducks' Shaun Weiss Is Unrecognizable In Mugshot
Shaun Weiss is best known for playing goalie Greg Goldberg in The Mighty Ducks movies, along with noteworthy appearances in Heavyweights and Pee-wee's Playhouse from back in the day. His acting resume hasn't been quite as prolific since his childhood, and many people who adored his early performances haven't kept tabs with him since he entered adulthood. But when the former child star was arrested for public intoxication over the weekend, people were given a chance to get reacquainted with the actor, and they were surprised to learn that he doesn't look the same.
Of course, most of us don't look the way we used to look as children. Life changes us all. But the distressing new police photo of Shaun Weiss is causing many fans of the famous sports movies to grow concerned over the actor's current health. Here's the mugshot that's now circling the web.
The gloomy-eyed man reflected in that photo is quite the departure from the bright and animated kid many viewers remember seeing in the popular Disney sports comedies. But more than that, this photo also depicts a man who might be older 39 years of age, and therefore suggests that life has not been kind on him in the years since his film career. It's a sad glimpse into this man's current condition, and many faithful fans of his work are hoping that better days find Shaun Weiss, as this police station photo is quite the distressing depiction of his current state of affairs.
As for the arrest itself, People claim Shaun Weiss was occurred early Saturday when the police found him acting erratically with a flashlight. He was believed to be high on drugs or under the influence of alcohol, although that is not confirmed at this time. The authorities found Weiss at 12:47 A.M. outside of a closed business complex with approximately three other individuals. This is not Weiss' first alleged drug arrest. The former child star was charged with misdemeanor meth possession last year, and was sentenced to 90 days in jail. Evidently, these past few years have been rough for Weiss.
Despite his arrest, Shaun Weiss was reported to be "witty" during the altercation, amusing the officers with jokes during the arrest. He was not believed to be combative during the interaction, and fans might find some comfort in knowing that Weiss has retained a good sense of humor. In any case, however, this situation is no laughing matter, and we hope Weiss finds the help and support he needs during this difficult time in his life.
Beyond his work in The Mighty Ducks movies, Shaun Weiss was last seen in the 2016 short film Netflix & Chill as a character named Shaun. Perhaps his most notable role in recent years was a supporting appearance in 2008's Drillbit Taylor, which came out a whole ten years ago at this point in time.
