Mel B Hospitalized With Broken Ribs and Severed Hand
Mel B is in critical condition at the moment, and she provided an update on social media explaining her medical emergency. As she admitted in a social media post thanking the doctors and medical professionals who came to her need, Mel B has found herself in the emergency room for an unknown incident that found the Spice Girl in quite a bit of pain. Through Instagram, Mel B updated her worried fans, letting everyone get a glimpse at her current state, via a big giant purple cast.
As Mel B admitted on Instagram, the musician had to spend a lengthy bit of time in surgery due to an accident that resulted in two broken ribs and a severed hand. It's unclear what exactly happened to Mel B to cause her this much intensive medical care, but thankfully, she's seemingly taking it in good spirits right now. Here's what Mel B said in the social media message, where she updated her fans about her physical condition and explained why she has such a big cast on her hand.
While Mel B is reportedly recovering at the moment, that means her schedule is out of whack. To be more specific, the musician was set to participate in a book signing in New York City this week, and that's obviously not going to happen given recent events. The book is Mel B's memoir, Brutally Honest, which the Spice Girl wrote alongside Louise Gannon. The book came out November 27th, and she was set to embark on a book tour for the book. Alas, that will be delayed.
Even though Mel B isn't doing so hot right now, at least she has company. In another Instagram update, Mel posted a video of herself with several other Spice Girls who visited Mel B in the hospital. That includes Geri Horner, a.k.a. Ginger Spice, Emma Bunton, a.k.a. Baby Spice, and Melanie Chisholm, a.k.a. Sporty Spice.
Speaking of the Spice Girls, it's unclear if and how Mel B's accident will be affecting their upcoming tour sans Victoria Beckham. (Victoria and Mel B reportedly aren't on great terms right now, which explains why she wasn't in the video posted above with the other Spice Girls). It was set to take place in late Spring 2019, so that might give Mel B some time to heal and hopefully regain her strength. But it's unclear if there are specific preparations that will be necessary before the tour officially starts.
