The news was given to People by an undisclosed source close to the one-time couple. While Ryan Seacrest and Shayna Taylor still reportedly "love and care" about one another, it ultimately did not work out for reasons currently unknown, though the split was "amicable" and "they're still really close," despite the break-up.
It's no secret that Ryan Seacrest is a busy man. Beyond his commitments to the aforementioned American Idol, he also appears on Live with Kelly and Ryan, which certainly takes a lot of time out of his day. It can be hard to find personal time between those duties, and it's possible that making room for a fostering relationship is too much to ask. But that's simply a matter of speculation.
It should be noted that Ryan Seacrest and Shayna Taylor have broken up before. They first got to know each other in 2013 when they were introduced to one another through friends, and then they broke up in 2014. Taylor claims they "matured" after the first time they broke up. But for whatever reason, it didn't quite come together, despite their romantic relationship lasting a longer amount of time.
