Alec Baldwin Is Done With Twitter

Love his politics or hate them, following Alec Baldwin on Twitter is still a great decision. The actor is almost comically open, and whether speaking about his personal life or random events he witnesses, his pointed scene of humor always seems to guide his words. Not surprisingly, that anything-goes-mentality has stirred up trouble in the past, and apparently, the actor decided it was no longer worth the trouble this morning.

According to The New York Daily News, Baldwin messaged fans “It’s Been Fun” a little after 8 AM today before deactivating his account. Given he’s done this sort of thing in the past, it would be foolish to rule out a return in the future, but for the time being, we won’t get a chance to see him sound off about photographers anymore. If I had to set the over/under on when he might be back, I would go with six months. That’s a long enough stretch to forget about all the negatives that come with having a Twitter account.

Baldwin hasn’t commented publically on what may have inspired his decision, but given his recent marriage and run-ins with two different members of the paparazzi, one would imagine he’s been getting tweeted at a ton over the past few weeks. Plus, as the star of a hit show and a new husband, it’s not like he doesn’t have other ways to occupy his time.

It was fun for most of us too, Alec.
