Ashley Tisdale Gets Engaged In New York
High School Musical and Phineas and Ferb star Ashley Tisdale took a very important trip to New York City this week with her partner Christopher French. The two had plans to do some sightseeing and some shopping, but French also took an additional leap, asking Tisdale to be his wife. Unsurprisingly, she said yes.
Tisdale and French first got together less than a year after Tisdale broke up with her last boyfriend, director Scott Speer. Unlike her last partner, French is a musician, who plays in a band called Annie Automatic. The two came out publicly in December of 2012 after reportedly meeting through “hanging out” with mutual friends.
Apparently, it didn’t take long for romance to blossom. While in New York, the couple opted to head up to the top of the Empire State Building for a romantic moment, ala Sleepless in Seattle. According to People the building is reportedly where the musician proposed. Later in the night, Tisdale took to Twitter to allude to the event.
Conventional wisdom might say a couple should wait a little longer than eight months or so before taking such a drastic leap, but the truth is every single relationship is different. Love and patience are more important necessities than time, and if these two can maintain the same devotion toward each other they’ve shown so far, they’ve going to have a ton of years of marital bliss to look forward to.
Neither Tisdale nor French has opened up about any possible specifics related to their impending nuptials, but given their combined success over the past decade or so, they’ll have plenty of choices as far as location, number of people, style, tone, etc. One would expect it will also be star-studded and widely covered by the media too. In the end, none of that matters, however. All these two will really remember is how much they felt in the arms of each other.
Behind the cameras of High School Musical and the pages of gossip stories, Tisdale has always come across like a pretty ordinary girl who just wants to have a family and a little bit of fun. A few years back, she recorded a video alongside her buddies Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber and quite a few more having more fun than any human beings should be allowed to while singing Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe.” You can take a look at it in all its whimsical glory below.
