Backstreet Boys Crooner Nick Carter Is Engaged
More than fifteen years after he first started stealing hearts as a member of the Backstreet Boys, Nick Carter has decided to dedicate his to one specific lady. The thirty-three-year-old singer with the smooth voice got down on one knee and proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Lauren Kitt, on Wednesday, and the twenty-nine-year-old enthusiastically said yes.
Carter and Kitt snapped a picture of themselves just moments after the big question, and earlier today, they uploaded it to his Twitter. You can check it out below…
The pair have been together for more than four years, but if she’s to be believed, the proposal was still a surprise. According to People, Carter spent almost a week working on his boat and getting it back into shape. He then took her to a tiny island off the coast of the Florida Keys that he spent time at as a child and dropped the proposal bombshell. She quickly said yes, and he was beyond happy, both for the yes and to get the damn ring out of his pocket which he’d purchased two weeks earlier.
I know exactly where Nick is coming from with the ring. I must have checked on the one I bought for my wife in its special hiding place ten to fifteen times every day for the week or so I had it prior to the proposal. It was miserable. I was irrationally convinced she would find it or one of our friends would bring a dog over and it would eat it.
Pop Blend’s sincerest congratulations go out to Carter and Kitt. Here’s to hoping their marriage is filled with a whole lot more highs than lows.
