Bobby Brown Arrested For DUI, Released On Bond
In the months leading up to Whitney Houston’s untimely death, the singer’s former husband, Bobby Brown, was mostly taking care of himself, keeping out of the tabloids and avoiding the rampant drug problems he had been known for in the past. Unfortunately, in the time since Houston’s death, Brown has gone off the rails somewhat, and today more bad news for the singer came when he was arrested on DUI charges.
The New Edition singer was pulled over in March, also for driving while under the influence. Then, in August, he seemed to want to get his act together and decided to check into rehab to accomplish his new attitude. Obviously, the rehab stint hasn’t been enough for him to be able to kick some bad habits. Around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, the man was pulled over by law enforcement officers for driving poorly. According to TMZ, when the police spoke with Brown, they smelled alcohol and forced him through a field sobriety test. In this case, they really should just call it a 'failed sobriety test.'
Obviously, the man didn't pass, and was later taken to jail, where he was booked until he was released on bond later on Wednesday. Brown certainly has a few stains on his past, but the man has shown a capacity to work for change before, and I’m sure his daughter with Houston, Bobbi Kristina Brown, is in definite need of a mother in the year following the pop star’s death. Here’s to hoping he can get his act in gear and begin to behave like a father and, at the very least, a person who cares for his own well-being.
