Boston Marathon Finish Line Rocked By 2 Deadly Explosions
The normally joyous atmosphere at the finish line of the Boston Marathon was rocked this afternoon by two deadly explosions. Details are still extremely fuzzy on what exactly happened, but authorities are confirming dozens have been injured and at least two have died as a result of their injuries.
According to Fox News, the two explosions happened around 3 PM EST, roughly three hours after the winners started crossing the finish line. Numerous participants were still on the course and many spectators were still in the stands when a loud explosion, thought to be a bomb, went off on the north side of Boylston Street. Just seconds later, a second explosion occurred further down the street. Video seems to indicate the second may have occurred inside the Westin Hotel, but police have not commented on that, as of press time.
As always happens in the wake of devastating tragedies such as this, rumors are running rampant, the majority of which have not been confirmed by police. The Associated Press is claiming two more explosive devices have been found in Boston. The New York Post is claiming as many as twelve might actually be dead. Regardless of how many people were targeted and what the total injury toll may wind up being, Pop Blend’s sincerest thoughts go out to all those injured and everyone in the city of Boston.
