Bride Found Murdered In Dress She Wore At The Wedding
Most brides-to-be have fears about their wedding night. Wine spills are a big one for me, as are missed cues and drunken groomsmen. Generally, wedding night uncertainties occur over trifles and details, indelicacies and yes, even table settings. Most brides, however, aren’t particularly worried about losing their lives on the big day.
Estrella Carrera was likely worried about the little things when she was married on Friday, May 11 in the Chicago area. As it turns out, she perhaps had larger problems to consider. After a rushed wedding and a long night out, Carrera showed up dead in her bathroom still wearing the sequined costume she had on during her wedding night. Her new husband, 30 year-old Arnoldo Jimenez, is currently the prime suspect.
According to the AP, Carrera’s family was startled to hear the news she was to marry Jimenez and especially to marry the man on such short notice. When Carrera did not show up to pick up her children on Saturday, the day after the wedding, the family went from startled to alarmed, eventually alerting the police the woman was missing. When they found her, she had been stabbed multiple times but was still wearing her wedding attire, prompting the police to believe she was killed shortly after Jimenez and Carrera returned home, after a night of partying that left them out on the town until after 4 a.m. A warrant is out for Jimenez’s arrest.
The couple had a 2 year-old child together, and Carrera had one other child from another marriage.
