Brooke Mueller Undergoing Treatment For Drug Addiction
Brooke Mueller’s story just keeps getting sadder and sadder. Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife and the mother of two of his children had her kids taken away by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Service late last week, after drug use was suspected in the home. At the time, the two 4-year-olds, Bob and Max, were sent to live with Sheen’s other ex, Denise Richards, while a court date gets set up in order to look into Mueller's potential as a long-term parent for her two children. Things weren’t looking good then, and depending on how you look at it, they aren’t looking good, now.
Mueller’s representative, Steve Honig, finally spoke up on Monday to clarify some of the weekend’s events. According to US Weekly, Mueller has already been hospitalized in order to deal with her prescription drug problem.
On the one hand, it’s good to hear that Mueller has admitted she does have a prescription drug problem and has gone to the hospital and will be going to rehab to get help. On the other hand, it’s going to be a long, hard, and selfish road to battle the addiction that has plagued her for a long time. Mueller’s upcoming stint in rehab won’t be her first. The mom and jewelry maker has had problems for years and just recently spent some time in treatment, signing into rehab in December of 2012. During that stint, Richards took care of the kids, as well.
Most of the time, kids are better off when they can be with their mothers, and hopefully Mueller can get her act together and be a good mother to her 4-year-olds in the future. She may not believe in herself enough to quit her addiction, but hopefully her children will be the catalyst needed to help her get clean.
