Christian Slater Thought His Fiancee Was A Lesbian When He Met Her
There are plenty of people in Hollywood who met their significant others in far cuter ways than Christian Slater, but I’m not sure a single person met his or her future spouse in a weirder way than the Heathers star. Three years ago, Slater was sitting at the Little Palm Island Resort in Miami when he spotted a young woman get on one knee and say something to an older woman. Amused at having just witnessed two lesbians get engaged, the actor went over to offer his congratulations and hilariously found that the woman and her aunt were just reenacting an engagement they had witnessed.
The congratulations he offered turned out to be pretty awkward, but luckily, it wound up being the perfect in to talk to the younger woman, Brittany Lopez. Not long after, the two went out on an official date, and over the last three years, the relationship went so well that Slater recently proposed. Lopez said yes, and the happy couple are currently planning a wedding.
Slater told the hilarious story to Jimmy Fallon last night on the comedian’s talk show, and not surprisingly, it went over pretty well with both the host and the crowd. You can take a look at an actual quote from the interview, courtesy of US Magazine below…
No specific details about the impending wedding have been made public, but regardless of when or where the couple got married, Pop Blend sends out its sincerest congratulations. Here’s to hoping they spend the rest of their lives being as hilariously weird and awesome together as they were during that first meeting.
