Demi Lovato Embarking On Neon Lights Tour With Fifth Harmony, Little Mix
Demi Lovato made an appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show this morning to talk about her career as well as her role on Fox’s The X Factor. However, the appearance also served as a great forum for the 21-year-old singer to discuss the fact that she is prepping to head back on the road, and she’ll do so with one of the acts who formerly competed on Fox’s singing competition series, along with one of the acts who competed in the U.K. version of the program.
Lovato is hitting the road with Fifth Harmony, who placed third in last season’s The X Factor competition, and Little Mix, who won the U.K. version of The X Factor in 2011. Both acts are girl groups. That’s a lot of girl power for one tour, but Lovato told Seacrest that’s just how she likes it.
It’s also really nice of Lovato to help the girls out by taking them on tour, sort of like how Blake Shelton from The Voice has helped out former contestants on the road in the past.
It’ll still be a little while before we get to see the singer in action. The Neon Lights tour won’t hit the road until 2014, kicking off with a tour date in Vancouver on February 9. She’s currently set to play dates in the U.S. and Canada through March 30, including gigs in St. Paul, Toronto, Nashville, Indianapolis, Huston, and Tampa. Since Lovato will be spending the next few months mentoring and judging contestants on The X Factor, it makes sense that she would need to hold off until the New Year to hit the road. Plus, while all of that seems like a long while away, she wants you to plan for the tour rather early. Tickets will go on sale this Saturday (October 5).
Lovato tours fairly frequently, so the fact that she is hitting the road shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. The big reveal, then, is the fact that Demi’s tour is titled after her newest single, “Neon Lights,” from her upcoming self-titled album. The singer says the song is like a party song and she wants the tour to be a party tour. Let’s just hope the whole thing is more about girl power than girl fights.
You can check out the full list of tour dates on Lovato’s website.
