Foo Fighters Headed Into The Recording Studio This Week
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has been busy with various side projects lately. The man is playing on the new Queens of the Stone Age album and he also has his new Sound City documentary along with gigs with the Sound City Players themselves all lined up. However, last night Grohl spoke out to state a brand new Foo Fighters album is on its way.
The Brit Awards were yesterday evening and Grohl happened to be in town promoting his aforementioned supergroup, The Sound City Players. However, according to NME, the man had a short and sweet conversation with host Joe Cordon about the Foo Fighters and the news should be extremely good news for fans.
This means the man should be back in LA today to begin working on a Foo Fighters album. Granted, this means fans are still a ways off from getting a new album from the band, but make no mistake, this is still good news. I think most of us were expecting Grohl to take a longer break from his main project in order to continue to pursue side stuff like his supergroup and his documentary, as well as hanging out with Josh Homme. The last time the Foo Fighters produced an album was 2011’s Wasting Light and it seemed reasonable to believe that fans would have to wait quite a while longer for a new album. As NME notes in the article, the band already has “a plan” for the new album, and it seems like the guys are ready to put the petal to the metal.
