Foo Fighters Planning New Album But It May Not Come Out Anytime Soon
The Foo Fighters have been on hiatus for a while. Frontman Dave Grohl has kept busy with other projects, including working with Queens of the Stone Age and promoting his Sound City documentary with live shows. Granted, it hasn’t been that long since the Foo Fighters put out an album. Wasting Light only reached audiences in 2011.
Hiatus or no hiatus, the various band members are still hanging out and, according to MTV, even performed together at the Sundance Film Festival. The news outlet caught up with Grohl recently, and determined the band actually has a new album in the works.
Unfortunately, that plan doesn’t extend to a release date, although Grohl exhibited his usual grace and charm when sashaying around the query.
Still, news of an upcoming album doesn’t seem like a full-on hiatus to me, and even if we don’t get new music for a couple of years, that won’t be any longer than the distance between the band’s 2007 album, Echoes, Silence, Patience, & Grace and Wasting Light. However long it takes and whatever sound the group chooses to roll with is fine in my book, and I’m sure many other fans wholeheartedly agree.
