Hilary Duff Delivers A Healthy Baby Boy

Actress, musician and wife Hilary Duff can now add mother to her list of credentials. The Disney favorite gave birth to her first child on Tuesday evening, a baby boy named Luca Cruz Comrie. The healthy little guy weighed in at almost seven and a half pounds and hopefully, didn’t offer mom too much trouble. She’s also said to be doing well and recovering nicely.

Almost two years ago now, Duff tied the knot with boyfriend Mike Comrie. During the early 2000s, he was a rising star for the Edmonton Oilers. He put up thirty-three goals during his first full season and seemed destined for a long career filled with all-star games and long playoff runs. Unfortunately, injuries systematically took their toll, forcing him to retire prior to this season. The loss of competitive hockey was no doubt a devastating blow, but on the upshot, it gave the thirty-one year old plenty of time to support his wife during her pregnancy and now will afford him the time to dote on his newborn.

At twenty-four years old, Duff is a bit young for the average Hollywood mother, but according to The New York Daily News, she plans to eventually return to music once she gets the hang of the whole motherhood thing. Even if she takes five years off, she'll still be relatively young.

Pop Blend wishes Duff and Comrie nothing but the best as their lives alter to welcome the new addition. Fingers crossed Luca takes to both skating and acting, ultimately morphing into an awesome hockey player who films one great movie every offseason.
