Isla Fisher Reveals How She Shed Her Pregnancy Pounds

Pregnancy is different for every woman. Some women stay trim and petite while pregnant and others gain plenty of weight. Some take a while to work off the pregnancy weight and some seem to lose it immediately. Actress Isla Fisher is now the proud mommy of two, but after her second pregnancy, she’s not shy about explaining what it takes to lose the weight.

When Fisher’s first baby, Olive, was born in 2007 the now 37-year-old actress gained 65 lbs. However, after Olive came into the world, the actress only had a few short months to get her rear in gear before she needed to show up on set to film Confessions of a Shopaholic. According to an interview with Fitness , the actress crushed some tough workouts in order to get back into shape.

"I had to shoot Confessions of a Shopaholic about three months after I gave birth to Olive, so the producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, hired a trainer to work with me three times a week. That was both inspirational and terrifying because I didn't want to let the trainer down.”

Fisher’s second pregnancy was equally tough. The actress suffered from morning sickness and gained 70 lbs. during her pregnancy. It was all worth it, however, when Fisher had daughter Elula with husband Sacha Baron Cohen in 2010. This time around, she opted to take a more leisurely route to getting back into shape.

“After I had my second daughter, I slowly lost the weight by breast-feeding, hiking [L.A.'s] Runyon Canyon and working with a trainer every couple of weeks."

With a healthy family and a healthy mindset, Fisher seems at a great point in her life. With a role in The Great Gatsby coming, the actress should be in a great frame of mind, indeed.
