Jane Levy Files For Divorce After Secret Marriage Ends
Evil Dead and Suburgatory actress Jane Levy is divorced. This may come as a surprise, since the 23-year-old actress routinely plays characters younger than her actual age and doesn't scream married. This may also come as a surprise because no one knew the actress was married. That’s right, a couple of years ago, the actress got married in secret and now she’s getting a divorce.
TMZ got the scoop on the secret marriage, finding out that Levy married actor Jaime Freitas (whose credits include the short films Madeleine and Heiko) in March of 2011. The two apparently stayed together for 7 months after the secret marriage ceremony, which gives them a little more street cred than Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, but not much.
Apparently, Levy and Freitas have been separated for some time, but it took the Suburgatory actress quite a while to officially file for divorce. The paperwork officially went into the system on April 16, with Levy citing “irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce. It’s hard to feel anything but ambivalent about the break-up, as the marriage was never public and occurred before Levy made it big on ABC’s half-hour comedy. Now, she’s a bigger star than her former beau and she’s hoping not to have to shell out spousal support. Hopefully, someday the details of the story will be a little clearer, but luckily the marriage doesn’t seem to be the by-product of a long night in Vegas or piss-poor decision-making. It just seems to be a life choice that may have been made a little too hastily and should make for a great tale somewhere down the line.
