Jared Padalecki Receives Incredibly Touching Surprise From Fans
Jared Padalecki’s growing fan base has been following him since his early Gilmore Girls days. And along the ride to his fan favorite role in Supernatural there have been some personal road bumps for the actor. Padalecki recently opened up about his struggles with depression, addiction, and suicidal thoughts, and didn’t know how his fans would react to this deeply personal information. Well, his fans just proved they are some of his biggest supporters surprising Padalecki with a beautiful tribute during a Supernatural panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
Padalecki has brought his personal battle with depression to the public space, in hopes of helping others struggling with the same illness. He joined forces with a non-profit called To Write Love on Her Arms and launched a support campaign, Always Keep Fighting. His panel yesterday came to a standstill, when over 7,000 fans in the audience came together in support of the actor and his campaign, unexpectedly lighting candles as one audience member shouted, “Always keep fighting”.
Overwhelmed, Padalecki thanked his fans, expressing how humbled and honored he was for such a touching contribution. It was early last year that the CW star first opened up with Variety about his personal battles. And just a few months ago, the actor canceled a number of convention appearances with cryptic, worrisome tweets that left his fans quite concerned.
But the actor looked happy and healthy in his latest showing, and late last night wrote a touching letter thanking all of his fans who took part in the tea light event.
If you weren’t able to make it to Comic-Con, but still want to help Jared Padalecki out during his Always Keep Fighting campaign, you can buy some of his “Always Keep Fighting” merch, or donate to the To Write Love On Her Arms organization.
