Jason Collins' Ex-Fiancee Had No Idea He Was Gay
In Jason Collins’ coming out letter, the NBA center discussed how good he became at hiding his sexual orientation from the world. Apparently, he wasn’t exaggerating in the slightest. Carolyn Moos, who dated Collins for eight years and was planning a wedding with him when he called it off back in 2009, had no idea her ex-fiance was gay and was floored by the news when they had the conversation prior to the letter being published.
Here’s a portion of what Moos told TMZ…
Collins has received a ton of support, both from the usual places and from the unexpected. In many ways, this is actually about as nice of a statement as he could expect to get from his ex-fiancee too. She clearly cares for him deeply, but she has every right to be frustrated over the eight years they spent together that she thought was leading toward a happily ever after.
Here’s to hoping, from this point forward, Collins is able to live happily and honestly in his new-found freedom, preventing a situation like this from ever happening again.
