Jay Baruchel And Alison Pill Call Off Relationship, Engagement
There may have been something adorable about the combined dorkiness of Jay Baruchel and Alison Pill, but apparently, the team awkwardness was just too much. After more than two years, they have decided to go their separate ways and officially call off both the wedding and their relationship. Neither party has given any kind of official statement about what happened, but early rumors are painting her as the dumper and him as the dumpee.
According to Perez Hilton, Baruchel sent out at least two tweets on his official account indicating he’d been broken up with but later had a change of heart and decided to delete them. Obviously, the story still got out, and considering he’s done nothing to explain himself or shoot down the rumors, it’s likely the break-up really did happen.
Of course, none of this is coming completely out of left field. Baruchel and Pill were supposed to get married several months back in Quebec, but they decided not to go through with it. At the time, he blamed the lack of nuptials on busy schedules and laziness, but let’s be honest, calling off a wedding is never a particularly good sign. Maybe one out of fifty times, it’s a neutral sign because there’s a tornado or a hurricane or some kind of other disaster that makes saying I do impossible. In general, however, if two people want to get hitched, they pick a date and stick to it.
Pop Blend’s sincerest well-wishes go out to Baruchel and Pill as they move forward apart. Here’s to hoping they find their happy endings eventually that may or may not involve more topless mishaps.
