Kate Moss Will Take It All Off For Playboy's 60th Birthday

Kate Moss was looking for a way to prove she’s still got it at forty. Playboy was looking for a beautiful and famous woman to help the magazine celebrate turning sixty. Fortunately, after enough searching, they finally found each other, and now, she’s set to grace the upcoming sixtieth anniversary edition of the famous monthly’s January/ February double issue.
Not a whole lot is known about the spread, but according to The Los Angeles Times, Moss will go full frontal, and she will appear on the cover wearing the classic Bunny outfit, complete with ears, French cuffs and silk stockings. It should be both sexy and glamorous in a funny throwback kind of way, and hopefully for Playboy and Moss herself, it will be very widely purchased.
Over the years, Playboy has largely gotten away from its sophisticated roots. The magazine is still sometimes home to progressive journalism, but compared to what it once was, it’s far more of an everyman’s magazine these days. If Hugh Hefner has it his way, however, the brand will begin heading in a classier direction. Ideally, that will start with more elegant pictorials and continue forward with sophisticated content. Given Moss’ high fashion history and eccentric professional choices, she certainly goes along with that goal, and in theory, she should attract some purchasers who might not traditionally buy the magazine. If, however, those new customers don’t come and the more sophisticated direction turns off the magazine’s base, I’m sure the editors will revert back to what we’ve been getting the past decade. Only time will tell.
Pop Blend’s sincerest well-wishes go out to Moss on her upcoming 40th birthday and Playboy on its upcoming sixtieth anniversary. Hopefully, in each other, they will find more than a few reasons to celebrate.
