Kelly Clarkson Says Blake Shelton Will Officiate Her Wedding
Apparently, it’s pretty normal for famous names involved with different singing competition shows to be good friends. American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson is in the middle of plans to wed her partner, Brandon Blackstock, and she’s signed on one of The Voice’s mentors to help her dream come true. Blake Shelton will be part of Clarkson’s wedding, but if you guessed the man will be singing, you’re actually very wrong.
Apparently, the country music singer will be officiating Clarkson and Blackstock’s big ceremony. Clarkson broke the news on Sunday evening during the Academy of Country Music Awards, while speaking with Entertainment Tonight’s Nancy O’Dell. Clarkson only announced her engagement to Blackstock in December, but it seems as if the couple is already in the throes of wedding plans at this juncture. The wedding should be a star-studded affair, between the couples’ famous friends and family—Blackstock is Reba McEntire’s stepson.
While Pop Blend is not certain how long Shelton has had his officiating license, he is also set to perform a second wedding ceremony in the coming months for one of the members of his wife Miranda Lambert’s band, The Pistol Annies. The pressure’s on for the busy The Voice judge and mentor, but at least he has the lovely Lambert to check up on him and keep him on task. Besides, I can’t think of a more affable individual to officiate a big ceremony like Clarkson’s.
Pop Blend will update you as more details about Clarkson’s big wedding emerge.
