Khloe Kardashian Kept Lamar Odom's Drug Use From Her Sisters

If you’re wondering how a scandal involving crack use and the NBA star husband of a Kardashian sister could possibly stay hidden for two years, it’s probably because Khloe kept Lamar’s darkest problems from everyone. Her mother, Kris Jenner, apparently didn’t know for more than a year, and her sisters apparently just found out. Even private investigators hired to keep an eye on Odom were reportedly kept mostly out of the loop.

According to TMZ, Khloe didn’t want to cause problems for her famous family members, and she didn’t want to risk the secret getting out. So, she put her head down and shouldered the load as best as she could by herself. Eventually, she told her mother, reportedly on the condition she keep her mouth shut, but it wasn’t until rumors about Odom’s alleged infidelities started flying that Kim and Kourtney started asking questions and figuring out something wasn’t quite right.

If Lamar’s problems had begun two years ago and progressively gotten worse, it’s safe to say all of this would have gone public by now. These two probably be divorced already too, but by all accounts, he’s waffled between sobriety and drugs over the past two years. When he was allegedly using and when he wasn’t haven’t been made public, but pretty reasonable guesses can be made based on his play. The power forward was godawful during his season with the Dallas Mavericks two years ago, but he rebounded quite a bit for the Clippers this past season. That likely means he was clean until the end of the playoffs and has once again gone off the deep end, which is what led to an intervention last Wednesday. Sadly, he reportedly refused to get help and was promptly booted out of the house.

Following the failed intervention, Odom basically disappeared for a few days. No one from either his family nor the Kardashian clan was able to contact him, and there was some fear for his safety. Luckily, Khloe was eventually able to figure out where he was, and by all accounts, he was unharmed. That doesn’t necessarily speak very well to his mental health and decision-making skills, but it’s really more of a one step at a time kinda thing right now.

At this point, it seems like a divorce is very likely, but it’s not imminent. Neither Khloe nor Lamar has reached out to divorce attorneys, and she has apparently vowed not to take him back unless he gets clean. That unless is very important, however, is it implies there is still some chance, at least if the stars align, for these two to make it work over the long haul.
