Kinky Boots And Pippin Among 67th Tony Award Winners

The Tony Awards are a great opportunity for those outside the New York area to get a peek at some of the new and revived musicals tearing up the Broadway stage. Case in point, the video above gives us a look at Kinky Boots, Cyndi Lauper's musical about a man who inherits his father's struggling shoe factory and aims to revive the business by making shoes for men seeking some study stilettos. Lauper did the music and lyrics, while Harvey Fierstein is credited for writing the book. Kinky Boots is just one of the stage productions that had a good night at the 67th Annual Tony Awards, which aired on CBS last night.

While Kinky Boots took a number of awards, including Best Musical, it was Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike that won for Best Play. And on Best Rivival of a Musical, Pippin took the prize, while Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf won for Best Revival of a Play.
