Though Britt Robertson is not a name that instantly strikes familiarity, it is one that is bound to. The young 25-year-old up-and-coming actress has been landing bigger name films left and right. Now, as she gears up for the release of her co-starring role aside George Clooney in Tomorrowland, the young actress is starting to feel what the spotlight truly entails. But, while her name is starting to become more common in the Hollywood ranks, it has surprisingly been a slow-coming process.
Robertson’s first big break came at age 14 when she scored the role of Michelle Seaver on TV movie Growing Pains: Return of the Seavers and from there, her resume started piling up with impressive films and TV shows, from Dan in Real Life and Delivery Man to her starring role The CW’s Life Unexpected. She continued her CW career with the supernatural teen drama, The Secret Circle, and is now currently in her third season of CBS’ Stephen King adaptation, Under the Dome. On top of her impressive TV presence, Robertson has starred in three big name movies in the past two years including Ask Me Anything, The Longest Ride and Tomorrowland. If her steady build to the top proves anything, it’s that this woman is definitely a hard worker and a name well worth remembering. She’s The Oldest of Seven Siblings
Britt Robertson is very close with her family who still reside in North Carolina (where she is from). Robertson has claimed numerous time that is her family that has always kept her grounded. When she moved to LA at age 14, her parents stayed home to raise her younger siblings, so it was her grandmother who lived with her for the first couple years there. When she got her big break playing Steve Carrell’s daughter in Dan in Real Life, she told People that she and her grandma would sit on set and knit together.
She’s Been Living On Her Own Since Age 16
After a couple years, Britt Robertson’s grandma returned to North Carolina, and the actress started to live on her in Los Angeles at the young age of 16. It may seem like a young age to be living on your own in such a big city, but Robertson was quite busy building up her resume with roles in films like From Within, TV shows such as The Winner and more. She also admitted to People, that while living on her own did get lonely, she made a bunch of great friends that she called her ‘faux family’ and they’d even cook her dinner and do her laundry for her if she needed the to.

As a young kid growing up in the South, Britt Robertson always wanted to get into acting, but her first movie she saw in the theaters was a bit unexpected. While Pretty Woman is a classic romantic-comedy, it’s not one you usually associate with childhood. Britt Robertson started her acting career at a very young age and had the typical L.A. child actor experience. She lived in the Oakland Apartments, a notorious hub for child actors and their stage moms. Her Favorite Stephen King Adaptation Is The Shining
When working on the sci-fi drama series, Under The Dome, Britt Robertson got a taste as to what it’s like to be a part of Stephen King’s world. The series, based on the King novel of the same name has Robertson in a recurring role of Andie McAlister, a waitress and candy striper who dreams of leaving the small town of Chester’s Mill. But, when asked what Robertson’s personal favorite Stephen King adaptation was, she went with The Shining. She explained to Interview Magazine:

Britt Robertson may be scoring bigger and better roles, but her favorite thing to watch continues to be bad TV. She told Interview Magazine that reality shows are definitely her guilty pleasure, but would she ever be on one? She denied that possibility.

Her Secret Talent Is Rapping
Apparently, when Britt Robertson isn’t winning over audiences with her stellar acting performances, the young actress enjoys spitting some rhymes. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Robertson admitted that her secret talent is most likely rapping, and that she tends to obsess over learning some of her favorite raps. At the moment, her obsession was Nicki Minaj and Skylar Grey’s song “Bed of Lies” but she told Young Hollywood that she also loves Iggy Azalea, and would often rap songs on the set of The Longest Ride.
If She Wasn’t An Actress She’d Be Housekeeping
Out of all the professions in the world, Britt Robertson knows exactly what she would want to be doing if she weren’t an actress. And surprisingly, it’s cleaning houses. She told THR that she’s always wanted to start a housekeeping business because, well, she’s really good at cleaning houses. Considering Robertson moved to L.A. at the young age of 14, and has been acting ever since, we’re not sure whether or not this housekeeping business was a childhood dream, or something she still would love to participate in. Regardless, it doesn’t look like the actress will need to fall back on that career idea anytime soon.
