Melissa Gilbert Weds In Red, Stylish Or Stupid?
Little House On The Prairie actress Melissa Gilbert walked down the aisle this week and exchange I-Dos with West Wing actor Timothy Busfield. The ceremony took place at the San Ysidro Ranch (where Drew Barrmore got married) in Santa Barbara yesterday, and by all accounts, it was beautiful.
According to US Weekly, the couple met some twenty-odd years ago, and their lives have continually intersected ever since. Through two failed marriages and multiple kids, they’ve always remained in contact, and now, they’re hoping to find happiness in each other’s arms. There’s something touching and adorable about that, but thanks to a bold fashion decision, that romance isn’t what people are talking about.
Rather than white or even off-white, Gilbert decided to strut down the aisle in the red dress pictured above. Given her hair color and the elegance of the dress, there’s something about the image she projects that’s gorgeous. That being said, she doesn’t really look like a bride. Because of the idea we all have in our heads about what a woman looks like on her wedding day, it’s hard to not instinctively think she’s a guest.
I like that she took a bold risk. I like that she did exactly what she wanted without worrying about the consequences, but I’m still not sure I’m sold on this decision. What do you think? Do you like the red wedding dress? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
