Metallica Stages A Panel And A Secret Concert During Comic-Con
Metallica fans headed to Comic-Con later this month are in for a treat, as all four members of the band are set to appear at the Metallica Through The Never panel that's scheduled for Hall H on Friday. And we've also learned that the band will be performing at a secret location somewhere in San Diego on Friday evening. Some lucky panel attendees will win tickets and learn the location of this planned, "intimate private concert."
Metallica Through The Never is a 3D feature film from Picturehouse, directed by Nimrod Antal, which features live performance footage from Metallica, mixed with a narrative story. I caught the trailer for the film when I went to see Man of Steel in IMAX 3D, and it looks like a really fun 3D experience, especially if you appreciate Metallica's music. Whether or not the story being told throughout the movie is any good remains to be seen, but the concert footage revealed in the trailer rocked. The Comic-Con panel for the movie is set up on Friday, July 19 at 6:30 p.m. in Hall H and will feature an exclusive preview of footage from the movie, along with discussion on the making of the film. Metallica's James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, Robert Trujillo and director Nimrod Antal and producer Charlotte Huggins will all be in attendance for the panel.
Metallica will be sticking around San Diego for the mentioned private, intimate concert, which will take place at some unspecified location. Attendees at the panel will have the opportunity to win tickets and learn the location of the concert. And we've also learned that the event will launch the advance ticket sales for the September 27 release of Metallica Through the Never.
Here's the trailer for the film and more information about the movie.
