Mindy McCready Forced Into Treatment For Mental Health And Booze Problems
Mindy McCready is currently in a treatment facility under court order after the troubled country singer’s family petitioned the court to have her committed. Less than a month ago, her boyfriend died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and by all accounts, McCready has not taken the passing well and has gone into a bit of a downward spiral.
According to E! Online, her longtime partner David Wilson passed away on January 13. A few weeks later, McCready’s surviving family members alerted child services that she may not be giving children Zander, 6, and Zayne, 9 months, the proper care they needed. After an investigation, the state decided to temporarily remove the kids from McCready’s care earlier this week, and later that same day, she was brought in front of the judge to discuss her mental competence. She reportedly admitted she’s been hitting the bottle pretty hard, and she was ordered to spend twenty-one days inside a facility to allow for an entire evaluation on her addiction and mental health to be done.
As of right now, Wilson’s death is being treated as a suicide, but that will not be official until the autopsy comes back. Rumors have raged since his passing that McCready may have had something to do with it, but she’s repeatedly denied that’s the case.
Pop Blend’s sincerest thoughts go out to McCready. Here’s to hoping she can get it together and provide her children with the environment they need to thrive.
