One Track Sunday: Owl City And Carly Rae Jepsen Party In The Woods
It was a good week for music releases, especially if you are the type to get down with feel good summer tracks. The Killers produced a music video for their hit single “Runaways,” Jennifer Lopez put out a new single with Flo Rida of all people and Pink got a little angrier—but still poppy—with “Blow Me (One Last Kiss).” The clear winner this week though was Owl City, who somehow landed Carly Rae Jepsen and convinced her to drive around innocently, as if she didn't just have very adult pictures stolen.
“Good Time” is about what you would expect from a collaboration between Owl City and the newly popular pop princess, with Adam Young and Jepsen both spilling out lyrics about hearing Prince and heading to the ATM before attending a wonderful summer campout bash. Interestingly the video also poses as a meet-cute, showing each of the pop singers driving in their respective cars before meeting one another as the party gets started.
The track is the lead single off of Owl City’s upcoming album, The Midsummer Station which was expected to drop in the middle of summer before the release date changed to August 21 and, in a twist of good luck for fans who can only stand Owl City one track at a time, “Good Time” will also be featured on Jepsen’s next release.
