Peter Facinelli Submits Paperwork To End Union With Jennie Garth

Often, when a couple is headed for divorce, one person winds up taking charge, gets an attorney and files the paperwork, forcing the other to take action. In the case of Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth however, their legal wranglings seem to be well-coordinated and downright civil. After about two weeks of publicly admitting they were headed for a break-up, Facinelli’s lawyer officially submitted his client’s divorce petition today, while Garth’s attorney submitted the soon to be ex-wife’s response at the same time.

According to TMZ, both sides agreed to pay their own legal fees and agreed to share legal and physical custody of their three daughters. It seems the only thing that really differed in their paperwork was her added petition to change her name from Jennifer Facinelli back to Jennifer Garth, though that decision was hardly out of left field.

Anytime a divorce is almost too amiable, it always inspires rumors that the couple could potentially get together. After all, if they could agree on some many difficult issues like childcare and money, in theory, they should be able to function as a couple. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always work that way, and many relationships that are ended on good terms never inspire a reconciliation. Regardless of what happens, both Facinelli and Garth have vowed to act in the best interests of their children, and ultimately, that’s far and away the most important thing.
