Psy's Gentleman Dances Past 100 Million Views On YouTube
It’ll be a long time before we know whether Psy’s newest track “Gentleman” will have anywhere near the lasting popularity of the Korean pop star’s beloved “Gangnam Style”, but after three days, it’s safe to say the song is certainly heading in the right direction. In fact, it’s already broken several pretty impressive YouTube records.
According to Dawn, “Gentleman” was viewed about twenty million times during the first twenty-four hours it was online, which is more than twice Justin Bieber’s previous record for “Boyfriend”. That number skyrocketed to more than fifty million after the second day, and currently, it stands at more than one hundred million views after a little more than three days.
Thus far, response to Psy’s song has actually been pretty positive, which is quite impressive, especially considering people were ready to write him off as a one hit wonder before “Gangnam Style’s” wave of popularity even ended. Earlier today, "Gentleman" topped more than one hundred million views, and there’s really not a whole lot of musicians who can boast two separate tracks that have achieved said milestone.
Despite some occasional whispers to the contrary, Psy actually seems like a really good dude. He’s brought a lot of joy to a lot of people over the past year or so, and moving forward, Pop Blend wishes him even more success.
