Raven-Symone Confirms She’s Gay, Praises The Government

The subject of Raven-Symone’s sexuality has served as tabloid fodder every now and again for the past few years, but each time, the actress has always refused to talk in specifics, instead choosing to keep her private life just that. Today, however, she apparently had a change of heart because without prompting, she decided to address the subject on her Twitter account.

You can read the embedded version of the tweet in question below…

On first glance, it’s not exactly clear what the tweet is trying to get across. Did she finally cut the check to the caterers today? Is she going venue shopping? Did she make one of those Dax Shepard/ Kristen Bell vows not to walk down the aisle until everyone has the right to? Is she referring to some far away gay wedding that won’t happen for years? It turns out the right answer is the closest to the latest. After members of the media and her fans expressed some confusion, Raven-Symone reached out to Perez Hilton and offered the following clarification…

"I am very happy that gay marriage is opening up around the country and is being accepted. I was excited to hear today that more states legalized gay marriage. I, however am not currently getting married, but it is great to know I can now, should I wish to."

Raven-Symone first dazzled fans more than two decades ago on The Cosby Show. Starting with the program’s sixth season, she played the adorable Olivia. Later, she was able to transition into movie roles and even her own television vehicle That’s So Raven. In between, she’s also put on concerts, released albums and cultivated a pretty engaging and accessible personality. As such, I can’t imagine there any many people out there who aren’t hoping she finds Mrs. Right and gets her now government approved happy ending moving forward.

In case you need a refresher as to how amazingly adorable Raven-Symone was on The Cosby Show all those years ago, I’ve gone ahead and embedded a video of the actress squaring off against the comedian himself in a hyseterical argument about where babies actually come from. Take a watch below…
