Rick Ross Escapes From Drive-By Shooting Unharmed
Rick Ross’ birthday celebration went south in a hurry this morning after shots were fired at his Rolls-Royce. The rapper was in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at around 5 AM when someone pulled up beside his vehicle and sprayed dozens of bullets at the vehicle. Ross swerved and gunned it in an attempt to get away, but he wound up crashing into a building. Luckily, the mayhem was so loud and obnoxious that it woke up numerous residents, and the would-be-assailants drove off.
According to TMZ, Ross and his girlfriend Shateria L. Moragne-el were both completely uninjured in the chaos. All of the shots somehow missed the car, and the crash into the apartment building didn’t do any serious damage. That being said, witnesses did tell Local 10 that Ross was very mentally shook-up by what happened and understandably so.
Police haven’t released the names of any suspects or even told the public what type of car they were driving. Given Ross spent much of the evening partying at Miami’s LIV nightclub to celebrate his birthday, there should be plenty of people who authorities can interview as to whether or not any altercations or disturbances happened earlier on that could have led to this.
Ross lives nearby the shooting site in the Fort Lauderdale area; so, it’s likely anyone who knows him knows where he would have passed on his route home. Pop Blend’s sincerest thoughts go out to the victim as he tries to recover emotionally.
