Rosie O'Donnell And Michelle Rounds Adopt A Baby Girl, Name Her Dakota

2012 wasn’t the easiest year for Rosie O’Donnell and Michelle Rounds. After beginning the year with hopeful optimism related to Rounds’ quest to get pregnant, things took a turn for the worse not long after when she was diagnosed with desmoids tumors. A few months later, O’Donnell had a surprise heart attack, but luckily, both women are now on the mend, officially married and have a tiny, crying reason to celebrate.

O’Donnell took to her Twitter account this afternoon to announce her family has welcomed in a new member via adoption. You can take a look at daughter Dakota seen in the snapshot below

According to USA Today, the child was born just a few days ago on January 5th and weighed in at five pounds, five ounces. More importantly, she was extremely healthy and both her new moms are reportedly overjoyed to welcome her into the fold alongside older siblings Parker (17), Chelsea (15), Blake (13) and Vivienne (10). All four of the prior arrivals were welcomed in by O’Donnell and her previous partner Kelli Carpenter. They split back in 2007. Since this is Rounds’ first child, the process won’t be quite as old hat, which, in many ways, is probably a good thing.

Pop Blend’s sincerest congratulations go out to O’Donnell and Rounds. Here’s to hoping their expanded family is an absolute joy.
