Ryan Lochte: Would You Like To See Him Get His Own Show?

Following every Olympic Games, there are a few athletes who remain in the spotlight. Kerri Strug was everywhere following her vault in 1996. Decades after his gold medal, Bruce Jenner is still a household name. It seems obvious Michael Phelps will remain famous for the rest of his life, but if his biggest rival has any say in the matter, he’ll be around for a long time too.

Swimmer Ryan Lochte, best known for his battles with Phelps and his hard-partying, frat boy behavior, is apparently fielding offers left and right, not just for endorsement deals but for television shows. He’s reportedly been approached by three different networks to star in a reality program, and the initial word is he’s very interested. Unlike Phelps who has decided to retire after London, Lochte has already announced he’ll try to make it back to the Games in four years, which could prove a worthy subject. Then again, a dating show would likely be even more fascinating considering how simultaneously hot and douchey he is.

Americans cared about Lochte during the Olympics. He was a frequent topic of conversation, and his duels with Phelps were among the most captivating of the entire Games. That being said, there’s a big difference between holding people’s attentions for a two-week period and making viewers want to watch indefinitely. It remains to be seen whether Americans want more Lochte.

What do you think? Do you want to see more of the swimmer, or would you rather wait and see him in four years? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
