Scout Willis Busted For Underage Drinking
Fake IDs might work on some bouncers apathetic about their jobs, but when police officers are involved, sometimes it’s better to just fess up and know you’re beaten. That’s the approach Scout Willis, daughter of Bruce and Demi, eventually took yesterday when cops spotted her sipping on a beer at Union Square.
According to The New York Daily News, the famous daughter was suspiciously eyed a little before 7 PM. When she was asked to prove she was twenty-one, the twenty-year-old reportedly offered the police an ID claiming she was legal-aged Katherine Kelly, but after a few minutes, she supposedly broke down and admitted having no idea who the girl on her ID was. She then allegedly produced the real license saying she was Scout Willis and was quickly arrested for an open container violation and criminal impersonation.
Given each are misdemeanors and Scout isn’t exactly a problem child, she should escape from the incident largely unfazed. Her lawyer released a statement today claiming she presented her own identification. Regardless of what actually happened, everyone involved seems to admit she had an open beer, and it would be a shock if the case wasn’t quietly handled with nothing more than a slap on the wrist.
Underage drinking might be against the law, but it’s a crime an overwhelming percentage of the public committed at least once during their youth. I doubt anyone will hold this against her. That being said, if more problems follow, this stupid incident will take on far more importance.
